Numismatics
Numismatics is the study of coins, their history, the techniques used to produce them and their development over the centuries. Coin issues are an important historical source, helping us understand the links between the economy, power, iconography and political identity.
Il Marengo brings together catalogues devoted to Italy, the Vatican, San Marino and European coin issues, alongside guides to the lira, euro and major European monetary traditions. The Numismatics section also covers the Germanic system, the mark, the pound sterling and other historically significant currencies.
