What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on the visitor's device. Together with similar technologies (local storage, identifiers) they make pages work, measure visits and show advertising.

How we ask for consent

The site uses a single consent management platform, Google's (Google Funding Choices, IAB TCF compliant). On your first visit it shows a message with the buttons to consent, to refuse consent and to manage options (in your browser's language).

  • European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: until you choose, measurement and advertising stay off; no data is sent to Google Analytics and the related cookies are not written.
  • Rest of the world: measurement and advertising services are on by default. For users in the United States see the section "Users in the United States".
  • Changing your mind: at the bottom of every page, below the footer, the entry "Impostazioni relative alla privacy e ai cookie" (privacy and cookie settings; platform managed by Google, CMP ID 300) reopens the message so you can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as consenting.
  • Refusing, or not choosing, does not prevent you from browsing the site.

Who receives the data

Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC (consent, Analytics, Tag Manager, AdSense), the advertising partners listed in the consent message and the CDN providers. We do not sell data.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Google may also process data in the United States. Google states that it complies with the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Frameworks (and the UK Extension) and relies on standard contractual clauses where necessary: Google's transfer safeguards.

Retention

Cookie durations are in the table. In Google Analytics, event data is kept for 2 months and data linked to cookies or user identifiers for 14 months (the period restarts when the user returns), according to the property settings (Google documentation).

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability (Articles 15–22 GDPR) by writing to numismatica@valocchi.it. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing, and lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante, www.garanteprivacy.it) or the authority of your country.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Opera: the existing links stay) and manage behavioural advertising on Your Online Choices. After withdrawing consent, cookies already written (for example _ga) are not deleted automatically by the browser: they stop being updated and sent, but you can delete them from the browser.

Users in the United States

If you visit the site from the United States, in California and in the other states with a specific privacy law, a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link appears at the bottom of the page. By clicking it you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising. Your choice is managed by Google's platform and passed to advertising partners through the standard GPP signals (SaleOptOut, SharingOptOut and TargetedAdvertisingOptOut).

The data involved are online identifiers, browsing and ad-interaction data, and approximate location derived from the IP address. We do not sell data for money; targeted advertising by Google and its partners may count as "sharing" under these laws.

Google treats the browser's Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request for limited data processing for users in Delaware and Oregon; for other states we cannot guarantee it is recognised, so please use the link. You can also exercise your rights by writing to numismatica@valocchi.it.
